Well, some people did, but we call these people misfits, outcasts, comic book geeks, and, are people best left alone to figure things out until they finally think like the rest of Humanity.
What’s this Global emergency? It’s a Hostile take over attempt by a planet with far more advanced technology in need of resources to fuel their Greed. Think it’s not possible? Let me try to paint you a picture.
First, it’s 2021, and we are vacationing to outer space. Impressive! We’re also itching to visit neighboring planets to colonize (as if Earth wasn’t grand on it’s own), invest resources towards and create a future in. We’ve grown bored of all this! Just like the Conquistadores who sailed risking their lives to find a new life elsewhere, we now have advanced enough where we can begin talking about traveling to other places in the universe for the same reasons. Great!
Now think a a little harder, please. Think we’re the only ones here? Think we’re the most advanced? Think we’re the only ones bored looking for a vacation somewhere else other than home? Think there aren’t beings who are smarter, stronger, wiser, and even yes, greedier than us? Well, if you still think you’re ahead of everyone else in the universe, keep reading, at least for your entertainment.
What if the universe had intergalactic Conquistadores who were eager to enslave a race of beings who were not disciplined or organized enough to be able to defend themselves in order to extract the resources their mother planet needed?
It has never happened before, and we’re definitely lucky it hasn’t. But our faith that these things will never occur might be believed to our own demise. Unfortunately, faith can get people far, but without wisdom and actions we are doomed! All we have to do to picture this situation is see how this scenario has already played itself out on the earthly scale, and take a leap of educated faith to see its’ possibility on a universal scale. No, I can’t without a doubt prove to you these other beings exist, but no one can prove that they don’t. However, you can atleast understand that they can exist somewhere out there, and that maybe they’re more advanced but greedier than us, or maybe just looking to survive no matter what the cost, with a little bit of mental work.
I truly believe that if someone, or more people prepared for this, explained this in more details with facts, figures, and research, we’d have a plan for humanity that can actually help quell our differences, focus us on a truly amazing goal of self preservation while creating a sense of community (ok not a perfect one since there is plenty of room for debate on all this), But think about it, we’d come together like no time in history because we’ve advanced so far, and decided this was a worthwhile goal.
What is that goal? To fight hard and smart against forces that may one day want to occupy our planet.
